U.S. Ag. Secretary declares nine Minnesota counties disaster areas

The Star Tribune’s Christopher Vondracek reports on the U.S. The U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack designated nine counties in the southwestern and central Minnesota farm country disaster areas. This allows drought-sapped farmers to be eligible for federal assistance for the second year. These counties are: Lyon, McLeod Murray, McLeod Murray, Nicollet Pipestone Redwood Rice, and Wright

Tommy Wiita of Bring Me the News reports that Minnesota-based USA Curling CEO Jeff Plush was accused of failing to respond to allegations of sexual abuse while serving the commission of the National Women’s Soccer League. Eleven members of USA Curling’s DEI Task Force , including current ones, have called for Plush’s removal as CEO.
